On the last Wednesday of Half Term, a group of staff took twenty bags of clothes, two bags of shoes and a box of toys and toiletries to the Salvation Army in Blackpool. The items had been donated by staff and students at St Mary’s for all the refugees that have been homed in Blackpool. It took five cars to transport everything. Year 8 students, staff and the Sixth Form CAFOD team did an amazing job collecting items!
The volunteers at the Salvation Army have an incredible set-up there. They have a room full of donations that they go through and organise. They then have a separate room with rails and sofas so that families can browse what is available – they said they wanted it to look just like a shop and they have done a great job at this!
Thank you to everyone who donated to this cause.
