Christmas card competition winning design

St Mary’s Official Christmas Card Competition Winner

St Mary’s Art Department set all year 7 and 8 students the challenge of designing the St Mary’s Catholic Academy official Christmas card. The winning design has been created into a greetings card and will be sent to Directors, schools and Parishes across Lancaster and the Fylde Coast to represent the Academy.

This was a home learning challenge and we have been really impressed with some of the entries. Cards were created using a variety of artistic medium, from coloured pencil, felt pen, screen printing, collage and the medium of photography.  The challenge has given students an opportunity to use their artistic skills for an end purpose.

Mr Eccles kindly judged the finalists and we can now reveal the winners;

Congratulations to our winning entry;

First prize –  Neve, 7E
Second Prize –  Maya, 7O

In addition, the Art Department wishes to recognise the following students as runners up for their special effort; Charlie 7N, Cheroken 7N, Adrian 7N, Eshika 8O, Emily 8C, Sophie 8I.

We would like to congratulate all the finalists.

“We hope that this Christmas the best present you get is to be near your loved ones sharing peace, hope and joy”
